Miss Rodeo South Dakota Pageants
Since 1963 the Black Hills Roundup and the community of Belle Fourche has been host to the Miss Rodeo South Dakota competition. Four times since then the young lady who was crowned during the Black Hills Roundup went on to win the title of Miss Rodeo America. The most recent is McKenzie Haley who was crowned at the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas, Nevada, as Miss Rodeo America 2011.
And once again this year, the Miss Rodeo South Dakota and Junior Miss Rodeo South Dakota Pageants will be held during Roundup week in Belle Fourche. Three Miss Rodeo South Dakota (MRSD) contestants will be competing for the title of Lady-In-Waiting. The winner of that title will be officially become Miss Rodeo South Dakota this coming January.
The Junior Miss Rodeo South Dakota (JRMRSD) winner will reign from July of this year to July of next year. Three contestants are also competing for this title.
The public is welcome to attend the many MRSD and JRMRSD events held during Roundup week, including a style show, the horsemanship competition, coronation and autograph sessions.
