The Black Hills Roundup is one of the oldest continuously held outdoor rodeos in the USA. This year’s rodeo and festivities will take place during a red, white and blue, star-spangled six-day period over the Fourth of July weekend.  And folks from all over the country and even from abroad come to the “Center of the Nation” to celebrate with us.

The PRCA rodeo will will take place July 1-4, 2017. Once again it will feature the country’s top riding and ropin’ talent. World-class bucking stock will be provided by Hank & Lori Franzen of Powder River Rodeo and their award-winning string. Joining them once again will be Franklin Rodeo and Northcott Macza Rodeo from Canada. And new this year, J-J Rodeo from Montana.

Oh, but don’t forget the wild, wooly and western fun in the area’s best Ranch Rodeo and barbecue on June 30th. If you want to get a flavor of the raw, git ‘er done cowboy spirit of competition you will not want to miss it! Tickets to the rodeo will be available on the website in April.

As part of the festivities there is a week-long carnival, South Dakota’s best fireworks display, expanding to two nights in 2017, and a mile-long parade. Top it off with the one and only Miss Rodeo South Dakota contest. Explore this website for more information on all the heart-thumping, non-stop, family friendly fun!

Fireworks will be Sunday, July 2nd, and Monday, July 3rd, following the rodeo. A complete 2017 schedule is coming very soon!
